BOOK REVIEW | November 9 by Colleen Hoover

Title: November 9
Author: Colleen Hoover
Pages: 310
Source: I won this through a giveaway on my friend Poulami's blog!
Synopsis:
This is a love story between a guy (me) and a girl (Fallon).
I think.
Can it even be considered a love story if it doesn’t end with love?
Mysteries end when the mystery is solved.
Biographies end when the life story has been told.
Love stories should end with love, right?
Maybe I’m wrong, then. Maybe this isn’t a love story. If you ask me…I’d say this might even be considered a tragedy.
Whatever it is—however it ends—I promised I would tell it. So without further ado.

Once upon a time…I met a girl.
THE girl

Okay, this is going to sound horrible- but I forgot that I was going to review this book! Aghh! So it's been over a month since I've read this book and to be honest, I don't really want to plan a review or anything. Instead, I just want to just shove this book in your face and make you read it.

If you didn't know, Colleen Hoover is one of my favorite authors. My favorite book of hers is Maybe Someday, followed very closely by Ugly Love. While Maybe Someday is lighthearted and fun, while Ugly Love is dark and deep. I would say that they are opposite ends of the CoHo spectrum. So it didn't surprise me that I loved November 9. I would say that November 9 falls in between the spectrum.

November 9 is a great mix of tragedy and humor. Ben and Fallon's relationship is very strange. Because they only see each other once a year, their interactions are so dynamic, but leave bittersweet every time. For the most part their relationship seemed genuine and healthy and amazing, but it did seem manipulative every know and again. The whole "revelation" was...predictable? I don't know, I guessed like 75% of it right and wished it would have been more shocking.

Other than that, I don't really have any qualms. I read the book in one day, and it held my attention the whole entire time. I cried, laughed, and groaned in frustration while reading November 9. You can tell that a book is good if it is able to illicit such strong emotions. The structure of the book kept me eagerly anticipating the next meet up between Ben and Fallon. While this isn't my favorite book, I still adored it. I had very few issues with the novel as a whole, and I loved the whole premise of it.

With that, I gave this book
4.5 out of 5 Stars!
